Has anyone else heard about this spiderman reboot? It’s not even that old! Granted, they should definitely reboot spidey 3, but I feel like hollywood is turning to the “reboot” option for any and every problem that gets tossed their way. Is a franchise in the red? Time for a reboot. Hey, I loved Captain Planet when I was a kid, if only there were some way we cou– REBOOT! (Actually that would be pretty cool! (Except they would definitely have to do something about heart. (I mean heart? Really? Give me fire. I’ll even settle for wind, but keep heart.))).

Sam Raimi had been pushing for a vulture villain, to be played by John Malkovich, which I could get behind, if the story that went along with it wasn’t generic as tripe. Not to be a hypothetical movie spoiler here or anything but the narrative was set to go something like this:

Peter Parker gets over MJ, finds a new girl, falls in love. But: Peter also discovers her father is actually the Vulture, a naughty green guy with wings to be played by John Malkovich. Peter is torn between the love of his new lady and taking down the Vulture. Being a Spandex tight-ass, he decides to take down the Vulture, and kills him. This patricide goes down poorly with Peter’s new fiancee, and she rejects him. Despondent, Peter decides to abandon his superpowers, and Movie No. 4 ends with Peter Parker throwing away his Spider-Man mask, and audiences wondering if they are watching Superman II.

I know I certainly don’t want to watch the series through again. What was wrong with spider-man 1 and 2? Not much! This bothers me. This bothers me greatly.

Hello to you!

I can’t tell you how excited I am to bring this web-comic to life. Ticket to Ride has been a comic in the making since early 2007 (so yes, this was conceived before the movie adventure land!). In fact, in 2007 I actually produced some 20 comics in what I like to call a false start to the project. At the time, the ingredients weren’t all in the cooking pot, so the broth tasted like moldy cheese and sweaty socks; now it’s more of a flavorsome meal that leaves you sucking your fingers and licking the bowl when you’re done.

This week, I am releasing an introduction to the comic to give you a taste of where the comic is set, who the characters are and the antics that happen within the park walls.

Ali Hill has done a great job with the writing, creating vibrant relationships between the characters that are light and easy to read. I’m very happy with it, and come January 4th when the comic officially launches, I hope you will all be ready and reading.

Until then happy readers,
Have a merry Christmas and a happy new year.
